Fab Five Baby Shower

Yesterday the Fab Five threw me our traditional Mother/Daughter Shower.  Em and Peggy were so sweet to host it at Peggy's house.  They used the ABC theme from our nursery and served ice cream with all kinds of delicious toppings.

34 Weeks

Exercise this week (June 15-June 21)
Saturday- FF walk 1.6 miles, Yoga
Sunday- long walk with Bella and Seth to Krankies airstream
Monday- short walk with Bella
Tuesday- FF, walk 1.2 miles
Wednesday- Yoga
Thursday- Swimming with Josh, Jules and Court

Monday we visited the Pediatrician’s office, took a tour and met with Nurse Judy.  It was such a nice office and sounds like it will be a great fit for us, plus it is super convenient since it is less than a mile from our house.
Tuesday was my last day of school.  I was beyond ready to be done, but I don’t think it will hit me for awhile that I’m not going back until at least the end of October.
I'm so excited about this weekend because it will be filled with friends from all different times in my life.  This afternoon Kate and I are going to get pedicures, then tonight I'm going to dinner with my grad school girls, tomorrow I have brunch with some of my college girls and then the Fab Five are throwing me a shower in the afternoon.  So much to look forward to!

33 Weeks

Exercise this week (June 8-June 14)
Saturday- FF practice at Salem Lake, run .5 miles, walk 3.5 miles
Tuesday- FF practice, walk
Wednesday- Yoga

On Monday we went for what will probably be our final ultrasound.  Earlier on during the anatomy scan, they said the placenta was a little low on my cervix and they scheduled this closer to my due date to see if it had moved.  They did not seem concerned at the time and when I read about it online, it seemed to be a very common occurrence.  However, I was still a little nervous going into the scan.  If my placenta had not moved, they would have to schedule a C-section because it would be too dangerous for the baby.  Seth came with me and this time Dr. Parker did the ultrasound along with a nurse/technician.  Baby Jane was uncooperative as usual.  She was moving around a lot and kept her hands up at her face, rubbing her cheeks so we could never get a good profile picture of her.  Nevertheless, the doctor said my placenta had moved and everything looked great.
After the scan, Seth went back to work and I had my regular appointment with Dr. Hatch (#18).  She didn’t do much except reassure me that Jane looks healthy and I am progressing how I should.   Now I wait two weeks to go back and then I’ll begin having appointments every week.
Baby's Weight: about 4 pounds
Blood Pressure: 118/70

32 Weeks

Exercise this week (June 1-June 7)
Saturday- hiking at Linville Falls
Tuesday- Run with FF (1/2 a mile, watch them do speed work, ½ a mile back, plus walking)
Wednesday- Prenatal Yoga
Monday was our final Birth and Beginnings Class at the hospital.  We talked about how to care for the baby when she gets home.  Seth really enjoyed this class, because it was a lot of hands-on and he said he felt confident and excited.  We practiced changing diapers and swaddling a baby.

Yesterday was my Hawaiian themed baby shower at school, along with Jessica and Lidia two of my co-workers.  Jessica is due exactly three weeks before me and Lidia is due about a month after me, but she has already been put on bedrest at the hospital so she had to miss the shower.
Jessica and I (we missed you Lidia!)
I am completely overwhelmed by the generosity of my co-workers!  They know that we are all the type of people who don’t like to be the center of attention and so they planned the shower around a lunch we have once a month and made it a floating shower.  This way people could come in as their schedules allowed and we didn’t have to open gifts after school all at one time.   They are so thoughtful!

Here are some pictures of the delicious food and cute decorations.

One of my co-workers and her husband (who are fellow Tar Heels) even made a stool for Jane with Heel footprints on it.  It is incredible!  I told them that we will have to work on “Go Heels” being her first words.

Mountain Getaway and Goodbye

Dieter and Ashley came to NC for one final visit before he moves and we all went to the mountains for the weekend.  It was a great getaway and we had fun spending time with friends.
