17 Weeks, Dr's Appt # 6

I had another Dr.'s appointment today, this time with Dr. Mims.  I really liked her a lot.  I asked her about the hip pain I am having, especially at night when I am sleeping on my sides.  She gave me some great news! I can still sleep on my back up to about 22 weeks.  She also said that I could even still sleep on my back then as long as I remember to prop one hip up with a small pillow so that I'm not directly on my back.  Hooray!  Maybe I won't have to wake up 200 times a night now to switch sides!

Was That You In There?

I think I felt the baby for the first time last night.  It was either that or the Mexican food we ate ;)  We went to dinner with Joe and Susan at La Botana.  It was delicious!  When I was lying in bed trying to go to sleep, I kept feeling something.  At first I thought it was gas, but then I realized it felt different.  I've heard people describe it as a butterfly flapping it's wings inside you and that's exactly what I felt.  So strange! I guess we have a baby that likes salsa as much as his/her mom!

Sweet Dreams

I had my first dream about a baby last night.  I dreamed that I was lying in a hospital bed and the Dr. handed me a baby wrapped in a blue blanket.  I was really confused and I asked what was going on.  The Dr. said, you just had a baby, he is yours.  I remember feeling so relieved and thinking that I must have blacked out, because I had no recollection of labor or any pain at all.

I've heard people say that if you dream about your baby, that is what you'll have.  I don't know if that's true or just another wives' tale.  My guess is I dreamed about having a boy, because last night we visited Terry and Anna and sweet baby Bridge.  I also read an article yesterday about someone who had 3 babies and each time her labor lasted less than 45 minutes.  I think it was wishful dreaming :)

Painting the Nursery

Seth and I spent Valentine's Day evening painting the nursery.  We chose the color Natural Grey, which is just a really pale grey.  I think it turned out great!

ADD PICS

We will probably need to do a quick second coat, but we'll have to see how it looks when it's dry.  Now that it's the correct color, Seth is on the hardwood floor bandwagon again.  He hates the carpet.  I'm just worried the room will get too cold.
